THAT'S Your Defense?!

"Alleged" (Translation:  Damn near certain) pervert and child molester Jerry Sandusky has been on trial for the last week.  The prosecution rested after calling a string of young men with heartbreaking testimony about how Sandusky "allegedly" sexually abused them by a variety means, including those of oral and anal sex.  Yesterday, the defense got to take their swing at things and I'm having a hard time with their line of defense.  See if you feel the same way that I do about how they're going about defending his "allegedly" heinous actions.

According to the fine folks at the Washington Post (one of the very few media outlets that I would love to work for), the defense called to the stand "...two former coaching colleagues who said that it was routine for adults and boys to shower together in large public locker rooms."  Uh-huh.  Before I continue, I'm just going to point out that the "allegations" indicate that Sandusky routinely sexually abused young boys.  Just because something is routine, doesn't make it OK!  If you're an adult and part of your "routine" is to shower with young boys (or young girls for that matter), I'm going to suggest you change your "routine".  Good Lord.

The first to testify on Sandusky's behalf was a one Richard Anderson.  Mr. Anderson apparently had no problem sitting up there on the stand under oath where he "...vouched for the defendant’s “wonderful” reputation."  Yeah, his reputation hasn't been so "wonderful" since these "allegations" came out.  "Wonderful" isn't exactly a likely adjective when describing someone who has every indicator pointing at him being a vicious child molester and rapist.  That man has a lot of nerve standing up for this guy.  I'm not sure what his problem his, but he is not a good human being, I can tell you that right now.

Mr. Anderson went on to say that he routinely saw Sandusky in the shower, naked, with young boys and that it happened all the time.  How is that a defense?!  Sure, Mr. Anderson said that he never saw anything inappropriate happen, but would anyone expect him to?!  It's not like Sandusky wanted an audience while he was doing the most unspeakable things you can think of to those young kids.  Verifying that he was often taking showers with young boys doesn't seem like the best way to go in my opinion!  I don't know about you, but I'd think that a better defense for this lowlife would be to not emphasize that he routinely showered completely naked with children.  But I guess that's just me because that is not what is currently happening.

I guess the good thing about a defense as poorly thought out as the one that they seem to be going with is that it increases the already high (in my opinion) chance that this abhorrent individual and poor excuse for a human being is convicted.  If and when he is convicted, I'm going to go ahead and hold out hope that his punishment will include the first ever death by stoning in the United States.  A girl can dream, can't she?

Everything's Ruined!

Remember Casey Anthony?  She is the soulless creature in Florida who was acquitted of murdering her daughter Caylee and then covering up said murder with some whackadoo story about the kid being kidnapped by a babysitter?  The only way that I can figure out that she would have been acquitted is because it was in Florida, America's wackiest and dimmest state.  After having been in hiding since her improbably acquittal, she's now back in the news and there's a lot to take from this latest story.

She's being sued by a woman named Zenaida Gonzalez.  That's the name of the woman who Casey claimed had kidnapped her daughter.  See, the woman is kind of pissed because, well, her name was sort of dragged through the mud.  You know, after being accused of being, at the very least, a baby kidnapper and at the very worst, a baby murderer.  And since none of that was true (Casey did admit to fabricating that whole tale), she decided that she should sue her.  Seems about right to me.  Want to guess how Casey feels about it?

Obviously, someone who seems to have been (and likely was) responsible for the death of their child is not going to be someone who has any sort of appropriate reaction to any sort of appropriate actions being taken against them.  This is no exception.  Casey has been in hiding since the surprising (and seemingly wrong) verdict was handed down.  That seems like the smartest thing that she's done from the beginning of this fiasco, as there were plenty of nutjobs out there who wouldn't have thought twice about killing her.  (I'm not saying that anyone deserves to be the victim of vigilante justice simply because someone doesn't agree with how the law played out in a particular instance.  But I am saying that I'd be OK with about 2% vigilante justice.  I'm also saying that I'd like to test this theoretical paradigm of justice out on Casey Anthony.  See?  Completely reasonable!)

According to People Magazine, Casey Anthony "... is angry that her required appearance will affect her plans to leave the country after her probation ends in August. She will now have to be available to testify."  Yeah, it must be completely angering when the person whose good name you totally slandered (and essentially accused them of murder) is upset enough to sue you.  How frustrating!  I mean, she expected this to just be done.  Let bygones be bygones and the past be the past!  How dare this woman want to hold her accountable for her actions?!  The nerve of some people, I swear...

But here's my favorite part of the article: "Casey was really hoping to leave Florida and never look back," explains a source close to her. "She was really ready to move on with her life. This has ruined everything." Really?  This has ruined everything?!  Soooo...it's not anything that she did or that she brought upon herself, of course.  It's not like Casey Anthony had any hand in all of the ruining.  No, this has nothing to do with her and now everything is 'ruined'.  She was done and ready to 'move on'!  OK, then.  Wow.  What a narcissistic lunatic.

Hey, you know what?  I was thinking that I might like to leave the country for a while.  I wonder how Casey Anthony is able to afford that (assuming that it's even true)?  According to the article "She does nothing but sit in front of her computer and eat." Anthony remains unemployed and broke, and, according to probation reports, she recently stopped attending counseling."  Hey, I eat in front of my computer too!  Sure, I do other things and I don't kill small children, but maybe I'll be able to get in on this going out of the country dela after all!  She's unemployed and broke, yet a-fixin' to leave the country?  Is she going to stow away in the wheel well of a plane?  (Let's hope that's her plan, as not many people actually survive that trip.)  Most countries don't let you just wander in without a job or any money and live there.  Granted, I could see why she might be under that impression as that's apparently what this country does.  But I assure you, it's not that way anywhere else.

Why am I not surprised that she's just annoyed by this entire thing?  I guess she thinks that when you are miraculously acquitted of killing your kid that you'd just be able to go on with your life as if nothing ever happened and that everyone else should just leave you alone.   How annoying that she's still being asked to be accountable for herself.  It's ruining everything, don't you know?  You know, probably the person who really should think that everything has been "ruined" would be her daughter.  You know, the dead one.  Were she able to hold an opinion on this matter at the moment, I'm guessing "ruined" might be one word that she would use to describe everything that went on.  One minute, you're a cute little 2-year old girl and the next minute you're dead somewhere in a Florida swamp.  That's the definition of everything being "ruined".  Being asked to explain yourself when you've implemented a totally innocent person in your little scheme?  Not so much.

He's "Sick"

Apparently, pretty, pretty John Edwards is not looking forward to his trial for being a sneaky (and likely thieving) weasel with his campaign finances. And really, who would look forward to something like that? But John Edwards, being the pansy that he is, seems to be willing to do whatever he can in an attempt to avoid the inevitable.

According to the
Huffington Post, Mr. Edwards "...says he has been diagnosed with a medical condition that would make it difficult for him to attend his approaching criminal trial over campaign finances and is asking for it to be delayed". Uh-huh. A medical condition that will make it difficult for him to...sit in a courtroom? What in the hell kind of "illness" makes it so that you can't sit? Hemorrhoids? I'm pretty sure that they already have treatments for that. Then again, Mr. Edwards hemorrhoids could be caused by him having his head so far up his arse. Hard to say if there's treatment for that.

Now, his lawyers have filed a motion with the court to have his trial postponed because of said medical condition. And they seemed to be OK with letting everyone else know that they were doing this, though they weren't willing to disclose exactly what the ailment is. Shocking, I know. The article also doesn't say how long they need to postpone for. Again, shocking.

Edwards has already postponed his trial once before on the grounds that he needed "... more time to prepare his defense and attend his daughter's wedding." Attend his daughter's wedding?! They postpone the start of trials for stuff like that? Is that because of the whole 'innocent until proven guilty' thing? It must be. I can't think of any other reason why they'd go for something like that. Oh, well, there is one reason I can think of. He was a fairly prominent politician (whom everyone liked until he cheated on his cancer-ridden wife with some tramp who he allegedly gave campaign funds to). I'll bet that had something to do with it.

Stay tuned to find out what is ailing John Edwards and when his trial will actually start. If everything that is going on pre-trial is any indication of what the trial is going to be like, I think we could end up with a circus on our hands. Yay! I love me a good circus!

Say What?

Well. Yesterday, at the trial of Michael Jackson's doctor, a one Conrad Murray, the prosecution played some audio tapes of Jacko when he was kind of...well...out of it. It was probably due to his being under the influence of a particular sedative used for things like, say, when people are having brain surgery. (It could also be used to sedate any number of uptight rhinocerii. The point here is that it's strong.) Seriously, it's pretty sad. You can barely understand the guy. It's not so much like you're hearing him from beyond the grave as much as it is that you're hearing him from in the grave. It sure sounds muffled. And while I'm not here (just yet) to pass judgment on the guy, I am going to say that if you know anyone who is in the condition that Michael Jackson was in, you should probably do a little bit more for that person than to tape their barely coherent little screeds. See for yourself. There's some of the audio (and don't worry about understanding it because it's transcribed) below. And if it doesn't load, click here.

Didn't See That Coming

You know that this is going to be about the Casey Anthony verdict. Like there's anything else to choose from really. Actually, there are a load of things I could ramble on about, but this one seems fun.

Now, I know that there are a lot of folks out there who are really butthurt over the not guilty verdict. I agree that it is a sham of a verdict. Did those people on the jury hear the same evidence that I heard? I keep reading things online (take that for what it's worth) like "It was all circumstantial" and "Nobody knows exactly how she died." Umm...circumstantial doesn't mean it isn't worth anything. I mean, there are going to be circumstances. That's just how it is. And do we need to know how she died? Dead is dead. And it's like the prosecutor said in his closing statement: "You don't cover up an accident to make it look like a murder." No. No, you don't! And that has nothing to do with anything being "circumstantial". It has to do with flat out logic.

Next up...Kim Kardashian! (There are some words I never thought I'd say.) For some reason, the media had latched onto Kim Kardashian's tweets about this case. Now, from what I can tell, Kim Kardashian doesn't have much going on upstairs other than how to successfully market herself. That she is a genius at. Everything else, including breathing? Uhhh...not so much. But she has been into this case. And after the verdict was announced she tweeted the following:

Now, just as a little bit of a refresher, Kim Kardashian's father was Robert Kardashian. Robert Kardashian was part of the team that got OJ Simpson acquitted. Granted, she was 14 at the time, but you'd think that she would be acutely aware that these things CAN happen. There can be people who are seemingly guilty as can be (and who may or may not have sliced the heads off of a couple of people), but through the adept skills of lawyering (and picking a jury with sawdust for brains), the client can be found not guilty. That's what made your father famous, Kim. It's likely the only reason why anyone at all knows who you are. Don't be so surprised. You should know almost better than anyone else how this works.

And on the plus side (if there is one) at least we won't have to hear Nancy Grace in that shrieking voice of hers refer to Casey Anthony as "Tot Mom". That is the worst nickname ever. It's just ridiculous AND it's too all encompassing. it could be referring to anyone with a (wait for it) tot. The other positive outcome of this whole ordeal was watching Nancy Grace try not to lose her s*** after the verdict came down. I seriously thought that her head was going to explode. That was a little consolation after the soft-headed paste-eaters rendered their verdict.

I don't understand what happened in that jury room. And it's likely that I never will. But hey, I guess I can just hope that decades from now, justice will be served when Casey Anthony is caught stealing her own sports memorabilia.

Worst Defense Ever

The Casey Anthony trial has finally started. In case you're not familiar, Casey Anthony is a 25-year old scumbag (I'm being subjective here, but it's likely to turn out to be a factual subjectiveness) who claimed that her 2-year old daughter was abducted by a babysitter in 2008. Yet she didn't call the police. In fact, she never called the police. (There was also never a babysitter.) She admitted to her mother that her kid was gone and then her mother called the police about a month later. Then about a bazillion people spent about five months looking for the little girl, only to find her dead. Shocking, I know. Casey Anthony has been appropriately charged with multiple atrocities like capital murder, aggravated child abuse, aggravated manslaughter of a child and misleading law enforcement. Naturally, she does what scumbags of her type tend to do and has pleaded not guilty this entire time. The prosecution is seeking the death penalty. And fortunately, since this is all in Florida, they actually execute people down there. So if the jury can do its job effectively, this chick is going to get what is coming to her.

Opening statements roll around yesterday and her camp offered up a rather surprising and excruciatingly lame excuse for all of these shenanigans which resulted in one dead toddler. See, the defense said that the little girl drowned. And instead of calling 911, Casey just panicked. Oh, and they're also claiming that her dad was there and helped her dispose of the body. Wow. Way to go. Try and bring down your dad in the process. OK, then.

What kind of an excuse is that, anyway? I guess it's the excuse of someone who is extremely desperate. It's lame as hell, though. Are they aware that the standard is "reasonable doubt", with the key word being "reasonable"? Idiotic, mouth-breathing, paste eating doubt is not a standard. And that's what you would be upholding if you were to actually believe that load of crap. But I guess if you're a defense attorney and your client is so obviously guilty that you know that it's a lost cause, I guess you just say whatever you can .

That's probably the reason for her defense attorney saying, "We're not here to talk about how inappropriate Casey acted." Hmm. You know, you can say that, but in reality, it is exactly why you are there. All of the inappropriate murdering of your own child (allegedly) is exactly what you should be talking about. CBS News also reports that their case "...will have a lot to do with the meter reader who found Caylee Anthony's remains". Oh, good. I'm sure that he'll enjoy that. I'm sure that he'll enjoy being made out to be something other than just the guy that found the body of a toddler. As if that wasn't bad enough, now he gets to listen to some defense attorney make up stuff (allegedly) in order to try and save his seemingly obviously guilty client. Nice.

Apparently, the proceedings are being televised. I'll be tuning in every now and then to see how this goes. Especially when the defense has their turn. That should be entertaining. I'll definitely tune in for the verdict. Watching that chick find out that she's guilty and no one bought her unlikely tale of events will be very enjoyable for me. You go, Florida. This might be the one thing that I can count on you for.

Hair Raising Photos of Phil Spector

I don't know much about Phil Spector. I know he's a music producer guy who worked with a bunch of talented musicians over the years. I know that he's prone to drink a lot and then get a little violent and a little gun-ish. And I know that he was on trial for the second time for the murder of some chick back in 2003. The first trial ended in a hung jury. This time he wasn't quite as fortunate, as the jury came back yesterday with a guilty verdict against him for second degree murder. They also found him guilty of illegally discharging a firearm. Duh.

Now, since I didn't know much about Phil Spector or the crime that he had been on trial for, I figured I'd do a little research on the man. I didn't get too far with that before I realized that there was something not quite right with this guy. It's a little hard to put your finger on at first, but you'll find that when you look at him that you can't stop thinking that there's something odd about this guy. If only it were something that could be nailed down or just a little more obvious. Or, perhaps if only it were something that you could put a hat on. Behold! The many faces and styles of a one Phil Spector!

That's nice. Is he always so photogenic?

Huh. Seems to be. Yep.

Am I the only one who thinks that he sort of resembles Marcia Clark (from the OJ trial days of yore)? He kinda does. Look and compare the two. Behold!

My God, it's like they were separated at birth. But maybe it's just the blonde hair. Here he is again.

And again, please compare. Behold!

Nope. It's not just the blonde. Those two are one and the same. And it's not like one of them wears it well or anything. It's not a good look for either of them.

He appears to be quite fond of and a master of the disheveled look.

Not to mention the gaseous and confused look.

This look is sort of like Al Capone meets Steven Tyler.

The profile view of a paranoid looking individual who has a least a touch of mental illness going on. How many times do you think the trial had to be stopped due to rambling? I'm guessing more than once.

And my personal favorite. It's like he was going for Tina Turner in drag, but lost interest after the hair.

Here he is after the verdict was read. Clearly he was not expecting to be found guilty.

And finally, what is likely to be the last photo we see of Phil Spector in a long, long time. His booking mugshot after the guilty verdict. Behold!

He's going to be wearing that surprised look for a while, I have the feeling.

OJ - Finally Going To Jail

For the 127th time, yet another example of what makes me absolutely insane about the current state of the news reporting media. The overly arrogant and wrongly acquitted double murderer, OJ Simpson, was sentenced yesterday, basically for being OJ.

No, not because everyone knows he killed two people and got away with it. "Being OJ" refers to his attitude that he has flaunted ever since his acquittal. His arrogance, his aloofness, his oh-so-casual-yet-oh-so-not attitude that he displayed whenever he was in public (which was quite often, considering he was golfing every day whilst looking for "the real killers"). Those things compose the "being OJ" category. After all, that's what compelled him to go busting into a hotel room in Vegas with a bunch of moronic, career criminal thugs in an attempt to get "his stuff back". Yeah, you can't really do that. If someone has your stuff and they're not supposed to have it, common sense dictates that you go to the cops, not to your posse. (Then again, common sense also dictates that you do not nearly lop off the heads of your ex-wife and her friend in the courtyard of her condo either.)

As you may or may not care to acknowledge (because, please, hasn't this man taken up enough of our time as it is?), OJ was found guilty of every freaking charge that was filed against him in relation to this unsuccessful, borderline-IQ-masterminded, property-recovery mission. Yesterday was the glorious sentencing! After reading numerous different accounts and publications from a variety of major media news reporting sources and outlets, I don't have a freaking clue as to how long he was sentenced for.

Everything is different. And not just a little different. Different-different! Maybe I should add them all up and then find the average. Here's what I know (or don't know. I don't even know if I know or not. How sad is that? Thanks a lot, media guys. You're a big help.):
  • New York Times - OJ Simpson is sentenced to at least 9 years in prison.
  • Associated Content - OJ Simpson sentenced to at 15 years. (Eligible for parole in six.)
  • About.com - OJ Simpson sentenced to 16 years in prison. Eligible for parole after 7 1/2 years.
  • Associated Press - OJ Simpson sentenced to at least 15 years in prison.
  • Los Angeles Times - Simpson is sentenced to at least 6 years in prison.
  • E! Online - OJ Simpson sentenced to 15 years. Eligible for parole in nine.
  • Fox News - OJ Simpson sentenced to Up to 33 Years in Prison.
  • McClatchy Washington Bureau - Simpson gets 18 Years "I'm sorry for all of it, " he says.
  • New York Daily News - Simpson headed to prison for up to 21 years.
  • About - News & Issues - OJ Simpson sentenced to 17 years in prison
  • Examiner.com - OJ Simpson sentenced to 18 years in Prison
  • Pro Football Weekly - Simpson receives 15-year prison sentence. Eligible for parole after five.
  • San Jose Mercury News - Judge sentences Simpson to maximum of 33 years in prison. Simpson eligible for parole in nine years.
  • The Associated Press (yes, again!) - OJ sentenced to as much as 33 years.
  • The Press Association - OJ Simpson sentenced to a minimum of 18 years.
  • People Magazine - OJ Simpson sentenced to 17 1/2 years.
  • MSNBC.com - OJ Simpson sentenced to long term

What the hell, media guys? Nine. Fifteen. Sixteen. At least fifteen. Fifteen. Up to thirty three. Eighteen. Up to twenty one. Seventeen. A minimum of eighteen. Seventeen and a half. Long term? (Way to take a stand there, MSNBC.) It's not like half of them reported 14 years and the other half reported 13 years. No. Between nine years and up to thirty three years, that's a span of 24 years! You can't even make an educated guess as to what his sentence was when you have such a broad range of choices.

The Press Association wins the award for the worst reporting of this topic with this account of the situation: "O.J. Simpson on Friday was sentenced to a minimum of 18 years by a Nevada judge. The 61-year-old will be eligible for parole after serving five years and faces a minimum prison term of six years." What the hell, Press Association? What the hell is that?

I think there should have just been a standard headline for just this one time. It could read: " If you care, he's going to jail for a long time." Oh, of course I could be more witty, punny, pithy even, but after at least 13 years of having to see that jackass and his smug face in the news every other week, I'm saving pithy for those deserving of pithy. A lot of media outlets must have felt just a bit of that same sentiment, as some crammed the OJ "news" into the headlines with other stories. We have:

  • Auto deal in works....Rest of TARP funds may be used...OJ behind bars
  • Simpson sentenced...More home debt troubles...Bush defends Iraq war
  • Judge shoots down NFL...Simpson heads to jail...Seahawks lose
  • Unemployment soaring....Record foreclosures...Simpson's sentence
  • OJ gets 15 years..."Shocking" job cuts...Ticketed in labor....

I'm not sure who is more pathetic, OJ Simpson or the folks over there at USA Today and what they were calling "Instant Analysis on OJ Simpson's Sentencing." I kid you not, this is what USA Today is passing off as "legal analysis" from a "legal analyst" these days: "With sentencing complete for O.J. Simpson, here are some of the instant reactions from ESPN's legal analyst, Lester Munson:

  • -- "The judge was very angry with O.J. Simpson, that was very clear." And when Simpson tried to explain his actions during the robbery, "He took a terrible risk . . . I don't think that did him any good at all."

(Since when does identifying 'anger', an emotion that most people who are not lawyers are, in fact, familiar with, qualify as 'legal analysis? And if something is "very clear", isn't it thereby unnecessary to state that which is "very clear"? At the very least, leave the "very clear" out, even if you feel so compelled to point out what "angry" looks like. Perhaps USA Today should have had Big Bird do his legal analysis. It seems to be on about that level.)

  • -- On the judge's comment that she began the trial wondering whether Simpson was arrogant or ignorant, and "Now I know the answer, it's both.": "It was not a big surprise for her to say that. She's a judge who has a flair for the dramatic. It was no accident that she said that. She was using notes."

(Wow. A judge not accidentally speaking. Amazing! Of course she has notes! And again with the restating of the obvious "It was not a big surprise...." From what I can tell, my cat could do better legal analysis than this and I don't even have a cat.

  • - Summing up, on Simpson: "I'm not so sure how he went so far wrong here. He has lawyers at his disposal. He is not totally stupid. He somehow went totally off course here."

That is where the guy becomes completely discredited in my book because OJ is totally stupid. If nearly lopping off the heads of two people 13 years ago and then getting miraculously acquitted of the crimes doesn't persuade you to live the life of a law abiding saint but rather that of a smug, condescending, self-righteous a-hole who continues to have run-ins with the law, then yes, you ARE totally stupid. Explain to me how ANY of OJ's behaviors since he "allegedly" murdered those two people are NOT totally stupid! Oh, you can't, because they are totally stupid. And so is he. Man, how do I get a job as a USA Today "legal analyst"? Seems pretty cush to me. Just sit around and state the obvious. End every analysis with "Water? Still wet. Back to you." It would be my dream job

Before OJ was sentenced, he was allowed to make a statement. And he made a statement alright. The statement that he spoke out loud and the statement that his statement made about himself. To quote the great Bugs Bunny, "What a maroon." As he stood there with tears in his eyes and a snot bubble in his throat, he ended up sounding like a little kid who was trying to get out of being punished for something he had been caught doing. He thought that he was trying to make himself sound remorseful and that it was no big deal to anyone who was actually involved, so why should it be a big deal to the State of Nevada? The thing was that his rationale was a bit ramble-y and off topic-y. It was also nothing less than completely pathetic. (Not so tough without your knife, are you?) He threw in things like:

  • "In the past, as we know, as you heard on the tape, Mike Gilbert tried to set me up in a porn video, tricked me into a room with hidden cameras and they still wrote in the newspaper and tabloids, they still had cover stories that OJ did it even though there was no porn video. Even though I didn't participate in it."

(Was he just talking about porn? Did he mention a porn video? Porn? How did porn get thrown into this? I mean, bravo, Nevada court system! Bravo! But seriously. Porn?)

  • "I think 'Hey Mike.' I yelled at him. And I think 'Hey' just like I yelled at Bruce and Beardsley and I've forgiven them. We've talked about it, Beardsley and I the next day, and, uh, Bruce and I hugged, have talked about it."

You hugged?! Oh, my dear Lord, now I have heard everything. You hugged. Oh, my God. Did he expect the judge to get up and yell, "I'm convinced! You're normal and caring! Bailiff! Release this gentleman and get me a mint julep! Or something like that!" Are you kidding me?

  • "My family knew what we were doing. And I don't want to hurt Bruce. I didn't want to hurt any of these guys. I know these guys. These guys have eaten in my home. I've done book reports with their kids. I've sung to their mothers when they were sick."

So he's a sick mother singer AND a book reporter doer! Fab-ulous! What does that have to do with anything? Oh, right. Nothing.

  • "I just wanted my personal things and I realize that was stupid of me. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to steal anything from anybody and I didn't know I was doing anything illegal."

Didn't know he was doing anything illegal? See? Again, my point. Totally stupid.

The folks over at the AP have the entire statement of ramble posted if you're interested. There's about five minutes of video of the ramble below. Somewhere right around the 1:00 mark is when the inexplicable mention of porn arises. And I'll say this: If it wasn't OJ, I wouldn't believe that someone would have actually had the balls to stand up there and play the victim. But because it is OJ, I'm not surprised. He has thought that he was invincible and untouchable for the majority of his life and that sense of self entitlement and self importance only became greater after his acquittal of not one, but two murders. There is no one on the face of this earth who ever has thought or who currently does think more of OJ than he thinks of himself. He is a legend in his own mind. And he's going to have a lot of time to hang out with that legend as he sits in his little cell for....(I forgot we still haven't pinned down an exact sentence)....a while. For a while he'll be doing that.

And please, someone tell me what is up with the dude in the background there.

It's karma. And I've decided that karma is short and has sharp teeth. That's why if you're not careful, it's so easy for karma to bite you in the ass. I believe it was someone wise (or a fortune cookie) that pointed out that karma, while often referred to as being "a bitch", was really not a bitch, but was rather, a virgin. If karma was a bitch, it'd be too easy.

Double murderer finally sentenced to prison. No one cares. Back to you
